The gap that was there was barely big enough for a kart and was always going to close as the driver on the outside was going to drive towards the apex.
Simple fact is, James hit Denis in the rear wheel/rear quarter of the kart. This indicates the move wasn't on, for me if James nose-cone was in-line with Denis's front wheel, then Denis should relinquish the corner. It wasn't however so he shouldn't. Totally James's fault and the first decision to exclude him or at the very least place him behind where Denis finished is the only correct decision for the stewards to make.
Whilst i know karting does have contact and it is part of racing, that move was a rash, heat of the moment last lap lunge. Im not saying James is a dirty driver, i dont know him and have never met him, im just making the point that the move wasnt ever really going to work as he wasnt fully alongside.
Wasnt a planned mallicious move, but it was poor judgement and as a result another driver finished 18th instead of 2nd. Thus meaning he should be punished accordingly for causing the accident.
Just my 2 pence worth anyway!
