Re Slicks: the "theory" is that because the outside tyres wear faster than the inside tyres (The right ones being the outside at most tracks) then by swapping them around after 50/60 laps would give you tyres with less wear on the outside. Personally we've only found it worthwhile during testing and even then the driver says they don't notice much difference!

As for the wets, once again the "theory" is that by reversing the tread the tyre doesn't work as hard so it won't overheat on a drying surface. Haven't tride that technique though.
