Hi we now use the gopro as super one say we have to, but we did use the md80 when testing.
we had no issues with quality which sd card are you using ? we found if you are using the one that come with it or a cheap one this was the issue.. a 2Gb HQ card min is recomended as it stores / records better as transfers the data quicker giving a better video and audio.
some cards are only designed for storing small amounts of data like on your mobile or pda so dont need to process as quick.
also depends on your software on laptop / pc VLC media player i find to be the best over windows and quick time.
