Our 1st year in cadets as well and like Nobby said, we chose it because of the restrictive costs of Comer - it appears more people are thinking the same as the Honda grids are growing.
However, I'd still prefer one engine make and a few chassis at this level to reduce costs overall - and if that means you can start in cadet and move to the junior ranks without having to start again thats got to be better for encouraging more drivers to enter the sport.
