We have always been told to only use water and a lint free cloth on both helmet and iridium visor. Make sure you change to a clear visor if it's raining, as the worst culprit is a drivers dirty glove to the visor, which could hold oil and fuel.
Always clean both after every outing. Using only water means there is no build up of products over time and no chance of discolouration of paintwork.
