No, that just reinforces the idea that the rules are there to be ignored. Your route leads to thinking that Karting is a no contact sport unless you are doing a desperate lunge up the inside when knocking your opponent for six is permitted....or even the popular 'kart racing takes place on the track unless you want to use the kerb to create a hole that doesn't exist and then run your opponent off the track'.

Tactically, the ability to drive around the outside of your opponent who has lost speed because they have to stay in control and on the track instead of slamming into your sidepod or in an uncontrolled 'run out' is much more interesting to do or watch. Yes, mistakes are made as demonstrated at F1, but they do get awarded penalties too(if the car isn't dead).
