Got to agree with Chris King on this one. The format of three short heats and a final only encourages people to go for 50/50 moves as they only have a short space of time to get to the front. Timed qualifying puts the grid in a reasonable order with the less experienced guys towards the back, but still getting the chance to race against the more experienced British Championship entrants and to learn from them!!
