What i mean is compare karting now to 10 years ago. The driving standard has got worse and worse. When i say class i mean Direct drive versus Clutch.. The new age of clutched engines allow drivers to get away with so much more than they previously would.
for example.. How often have you seen the 1/2 hearted attemp to overtake which ends up with both karts facing the wrong way.. Nowadays all you have to do is press a button and of you go again. Previously you would need to get and bump start you kart thus loosing at least 1/2 lap and therefore race over.. Dont get me wrong the i'm not against clutches at all, It has been very good for bringing new karters in but it also has opened the door for poor driving because the penalty for coming off, spinning, getting caught up in 1st corner incidents is far less than driving an ICA or TKM.
