Don't be worried that he will out grow it thats not an issue. The MSA will superceed the cmr helmet with the cmr++ in six months time making you buy another and yours worthless. On a serious note I've found the linings give and would be surprised if you don't get 3 years+ Buy a good well fitting helmet. Arai and bell are both excellent, but they should all meet a very good standard. (higher i believe than for motorcycle racing)
