The cleaning agent in cola is phosphoric acid, and one might presume the more the better

From one web site (google "cola with highest phosphoric acid") "In a survey designed to measure the amount of phosphoric acid in twenty different soft drinks, the following were found to contain the highest amounts: Tab, Coke, Diet Coke, caffeine-free Coke, and Mr. Pibb.5 The formulas may have been changed for the better since this survey was conducted. Read labels. By the way, Pepsi Free, Diet Pepsi Free, Like Cola, 7-Up, and Mountain Dew had no phosphoric acid in them.

Jyffy toilet cleaner is a mix of 5-10% sulphamic acid and 5-10% orthophosphoric acid and 5 litres will set you back about Ł6. Much stronger than cola and designedd as a rust cleaner. (and toilets).

HG Hagesan Extra from Decorating warehouse (Ł8.49 a litre) is a concrete cleaner with 15 to 30% phosphoric acid (the blurb says safer to use than hydrochloric acid!)

Either is probably more effective than cola.

However we used to do an experiment with phosphoric acid. We cleaned a sheet of rusty steel with it, and it came up all shiny, You wash the acid off with water and as the water dries you can see the bloom of rust return over the metal. Clean the metal by all means, but immediately after washing it stop the air getting to it if it is rustable. (dunk it in oil works) Stainless steel of course doesn't rust.
