Look my perpective is kids, adult karting is a different thing. Perhaps that's the problem, they are treated the same but in reality the aspirations of the competitors are often very different.
But in my opinion any kid that wins a club championship should be given a chance to compete in a British championship that gives them the opportunity to show what they can do without the parent spending a fortune and in the knowledge that they have an equal chance in terms of engine. It's clear that high level karting is never going to be open to the masses, but there are plenty of people who can afford the time and the money for decent kit and reasonable of amounts of track time, but not the bandwagon of expensively prepared engines. Surely I can't be the only person who thinks like this? Obviously there are lots of people in karting with a vested interest in keeping things as they are, but I think there are many more who are just giving up in dispair.
