Blimey! - Thought I was asking a simple question - go away for a day and all hell breaks loose!

As a newbie to this sport, the learning curve is huge and as can be seen here, everyone has an opinion so you have to keep your wits about you. Some people may think I'm asking daft questions, but I'm only after some sensible info from people already in the sport to help me out as I would try and help others.

As with email you can't see the full context behind a written statement so I would ask if you can't reply helpfully or polietly just to re-read your post before you hit publish - to avoid online arguments as they don't really help anyone!!! :)

In regard to safety from the original post - when we 1st kitted him out a couple of months ago we elected to spend more on the new Arai CK6 carbon helmet even though it hasn't been confirmed yet for next season as its meant to be a lot safer than the current helmets - mainly due to the weight on the childs neck. So safety has always been a primary concern for me!

As for dropping a helmet - is this another case of having x-ray/offical checks? obviously dropping from a few inches "may" not do as much damage as dropping from a few feet and each occurence would be unique but it would be good if there was somewhere you could check.
