Yes its for real question - Arai will x-ray the helmet to check whether its still safe to use (i.e. not damaged the structure) and if it is they will repair visor mounts etc - but they don't doing painting etc.
Most manufacturers offer this service as part of their after sales - this ensures that if someone has minor damage that you don't always need a new helmet everytime.
I'm not suggesting putting him in a helmet that is unsafe at all in this message so you can get off your high horse thanks.
After a bit more research, EVEN if it was checked as safe, by the time you've added the cost of painting (Ł200-Ł300) i'd rather get a new one.
