I bought one of these: http://www.kartstore.co.uk/detail.cfm?item_id=2325&cat_id=1610

It records the highest revs, can be used on 2 or 4 stroke. Also can record the engine run time of two different engines. Ł50 seemed like a reasonable price and all you have to do it wind the aerial around the HT lead. Hope this helps, Thomas..........
