Other users(or possible future purchasers)of this particular helmet may find the following of interest.

My Lad's Duchinni Y810 helmet was failed at scrutineering this past weekend at the TKM Festival, Whilton Mill.

The scrutineer detected a small, but significant crack at the back of the helmet, just above the joint in the black trim on the bottom of the helmet.

He said he had seen (and failed) several more recently at various events, adding that detailed examination of cracks had revealed total penetration of the fibre glass shell.
It was suggested that a possible manufacturing fault was the cause of the cracking.

This helmet was bought at the start of the year and has never been dropped or mistreated and has no marks other than this.
It has now been replaced by an ARAI helmet.

My thanks to the scrutineers at the event for pointing out this defect.
