You can make a holding tool easily. All you need is a plate that has 2 pins,1 for the centre sprocket and the 2nd for 1 of the holes in the drum.
You can use bolts that fit etc and if needed a bush to get the size correct of the pins.
I would not use the chain idea as said you can crush the sprockets very easily and cause the bush or bearings to fail or the sprocket.
