all the tools that others have posted on here are fine BUT the 3 main things that you will need.
Patience.. your lad will not be winning races from the start HE will improve and learn faster than you will .

a good sence of humour... when its chucking it down with rain or the lads upset he has not gone as well as expected or he is doing better than expected and then he is involved in an accident... try to remeber why you started karting in the first place ...for the enjoyment of being out with your kids, the good friends you will meet(and your lad)

but the most inportant thing never to leave in the garage is a good wet suite and welly boots for yourself... this is England you are going to get very wet and very cold... WELCOME TO KARTING
