OK. Thanks. Which engine number is Honda's 50cc? Is the GX100? I assume that could be fitted to the chassis. There's plenty of space around the current engine.
I'll try and bring him along to one of Scott's meetings, although we're on the South coast in Hampshire! I told him Whilton would be the easiest track for us out of the ones he was considering using.
There are some tracks much closer to us, none seem to run anything suitable for us at the moment. What I have been able to find out...
Blackbushe - Only Cadets from age 8. Forest Edge - From 6 years old Sandown Park (Daytona) - From 5 in Daytona's own karts only Thruxton - Another corporate only track as far as I can tell Buckmore - From 6 years old. Mixture of owner driver and arrive and drive. Not sure if they are doing their own thing or if it's MSA based. I think they will be fairly helpful when he's 6 as the track director there is quite good.
So that's why we're travelling 2 hours to Rye for practice. They are very helpful but we can't go that often.
They trouble with a lot of tracks (and I visit a quite a few with Club100) is that the staff only seem to know about the arrive and drive stuff that the tracks themselves run. Whilton looked promising as they sell the Parolin in the kart shop but both the shop and the reception staff seemed to know nothing about when they could be used at the track and directed me to Protrain and the arrive and drive on the smaller track.
Cheers, Stuart
