If it's your first race weigh him up on the scales then add 3-5kgs of lead to over the class weight limit.
Your first race meeting is usually quite busy so it's far faster to remove lead than put it on ;-)

P.s moving my head makes little difference when we corner weighted my old kart! ;-) must be us young people don't have as much useless information stored! :-)
