If you think that seat stays make no difference to the handling of the kart, you are deluded! I'm not sure of the exact mechanics of their operation, but the acid test is to try running with/without them. There is a huge difference!! I agree with QOT that some people above are just talking absolute rubbish, but it can't be denied they drastically alter the handling- and thats the important bit!
