Essentially it is an aircooled Leopard, or so I was told.

I believe that some Leopard parts will fit, just as some of the Lynx 100 will fit the Formula Blue engine but they mark 'legal' parts to restrict the degree of unauthorised engine modification that might take place.

if a non-compliant part turns up in scrutineering and it is marked, then one can trace where it ought to be and have some idea of who was doing modifications. It is never the person caught with the engine, always the last owner from whom it was bought as 'race-legal'.
