We were given an old-style TranX 160 transponder by someone at our Kart club (in with some other stuff). I bought a new charger for it and have charged it up. this is what happened:
Put it on to charge - was flashing red.
after about 15 hours the light was a steady green light.
took it off charge, and the green light changed to flashing red - but this time it is 3 flashes, then a pause, then 3 flashes etc. it did this for over 24 hours, and is now flashing twice in red.

I assume this is not normal? (I thought they were supposed to flah green to show how much charge is left)
is the transponder "dead"?
how can I check?
is it worth me sending it away to get a new battery installed in it?

I found an old thread with the same question, but could not find an answer....apologies if this is a simple question which has been answered before but i am a new "cadet mum" and still learning!
