To all prospective bambino parents and interested parties
Our young grandson is hoping to take part in the newly formed bambino class to which we will be giving our whole hearted support. However, we do have some reservations regarding the rules for this new class and would be interested to hear from others.
Regarding tyres - we are very concerned for the safety of all the drivers, should only open slicks be allowed in slippery conditions. Our proposal would be to allow cadet slicks and wets.(to keep costs down used tyres, which would be readily available, could then be used and we feel allowing wets would be a much safer option).
Secondly - we feel there should be no restriction on the length of circuit for two reasons. a) a short circuit would promote lapping of slower drivers thus creating a hazard b) many clubs prepared to run the bambino class would find their tracks could not be suitably modified.
We are by no means novices to the karting scene, having first raced ourselves in the early 60's, only to become involved again with our two sons from the 90's until their retirement in 2008.
