Robin (SimonS), I've got to agree with BD here. There is absolutly no point having an AGM that the competitors don't know about. At the end of the day, it's the competitors who are involved most in the championship (they are the ones who pay the entry, compete in all the races and support the grande finals), NOT the clubs.

Asking the competitors what they want instead of relaying on the clubs to pass on information is why the Super 1 Series improved their meeting format, and why it lowered it's entry fee after being too high only a few weeks ago. it's also why Club100 are the biggest 2-stroke karting club in the country (over 300 members last year), it's also why the Easykart grids in Senior are set to be over 50 for each round this year and it's also why the ABKC 0 plate for KF classes will take place over the annual winter series rather than a one off meeting somewhere. Because they (the ABKC, the S1 organisers etc) went straight to the competitors and asked what they want, they didn't hold a secret AGM where they asked a few people "in the know" what to do.

Having an AGM which the customers are, effectively, closed off to is just plain bonkers. Easpecially when it isn't advertised whatsoever on the NKRA's main noticeboard (this being the planetkarting site) and only through the clubs. Remember, the only time most people see the guys running their club is at the monthly club meetings. Or some people like me, who only compete in the blue challenge/NKRA races and not any "club only" events, see their club directors 2 or 3 times a year max!

Robin, as I'm sure you know, there aren't many bigger supporters of the NKRA than me. I've defended it enough times on this forum amd I got a national championship out of it but there are a few things which can let it down at times, this being one of them. Unfortunatly I won't be competing in the series this year as Easykart calls but I will be following it closely this year.

p.s. I would say though that I never heard anything about a AGM from either the area rep or any of the clubs I was part of last year. And one of those clubs had alot of entered drivers into the series and has benefitted from it quite nicely this year.
