as a long term racer i have raced through differernt stages of my life, at the begining i was literally at strubby camped in the back of a esort van, i bearley had enough to pay race fees, 15 yrs later and we have a fairly ok bussiness that supports our racing, i think this qualifies me to see both sides of the fence, however, i still cant find it within my self to accept what has happend here. i will be running this season, and out of a big team awning, on a birel,,, (ok not tkm but still). what i find hard to accept is the sneaky way in which it has appeared to happen,,, (let folk register first), The fact is they have increased the entry fee by 70 % and added costs to the start by a figure they dare not tell us yet (the camera), i cannot increase our bussiness prices by 5 percent let alone this,,, either way, i find this unacceptable although im going to be forced to accept it because i had already done a deal with andy cox racing to pay "x amount" and had taken delivery of the kart and used it.
is the camera something we are paying for what the officals are failing to do?
if the officials are finding it difficult to police then why are we being asked for more as i thought the policing of our racing was included in the cost,
would we find it acceptable if our local council upped our council tax to near double because the local constabulary wanted to police the town/city diferently? i think not!
whats worse is i suspect that the late notice changes will be money making chages for a certain party.
The long and short of this is,,,, i should not be supprised,,, when i started karting qualifiers were in place for all classes and all classes were full.
now,,, s1 allows everybody (pure greed) they cant fill any of the classes with the exception of maybe snr max (and thats declining fast), this cant be blamed on recession cause my karting career has been through two recessions.
only one place to look and till they go nothing will change!
