Have Cadet karts got any faster in the last 15 years? How many kids have been injured due to their existing helmets letting them down?
By all means upgrade safety kit, but don't enforce ludicrous prices on people, by not allowing market forces to work on those prices before things become compulsory.
Especially in the name of completely unjustified claim of improved safety.
If you read the Snell website, even they concede that once a helmet has a certificate, the difference in price is down to bling factor.
Furthermore, I see lots of talk of the same rules being adopted throughout Europe, this is not so. For International racing yes, but for National competitions other European countries are still allowing older BS standards, how ironic is that?
