Seat fitting - does this sound right?

I was told by a dealer at Kartmania that they wouldnt need me present for the seat fitting when building my kart, as it is installed in "a standard way" and then the pedals are adjusted to take account of my size etc.

I always thought seats were fitted specifically to your frame/size etc and that their positioning on the kart was altered accordingly.

Is this guy talking rubbish?
