Maybe we need to update the Arks Exam questions in the spirit of the current debates.
1) If you take to the kerb to get round the track quicker do you :
a) Win a pot
b) Get punched in parc ferme
c) Get a black flag
2) The driver in front knows you are there, and as you have just caught up 40 yards, are quicker than he is; but he still hasn't waved you through. Do you:
a) Punt him out of the way
b) Pass on the kerb
c) Wave both hands at the marshal
d) Wait till he makes a mistake
3) The track has just installed a dragons teeth kerb on the inside of a hairpin turn, do you:
a) cut across the grass 20 yards short of the turn
b) fit a sacrificial tungsten plate under the kart so you can slide over it.
c) Drive between the white lines
Your rival is lapping you in the last race of the club championship because of your engine trouble, do you:
a) Wait till he is overtaking you, then bin him.
b) Put in a protest that he didn't have a litre of fuel in his tank when he finished
c) Congratulate him on an excellent drive.
4) You are overtaking a kart in front and he leaves a kart width of room on the inside of the corner. On the run out do you:
a) Lean on him because otherwise you wouldn't get round
b) Drive him off the track on the outrun, because it's 'your line'
c)Not run into him even if it means you have to slow down.
If you take the start flag and break down on track have you :
a) Got to mend the kart on the track, with your back to oncoming karts
b) Got a DNF score of one more than your current grid
c) automatically qualified for a finish, unless the club rules demand that you must complete a set number of laps.
