The cadet engine has restrictors in to make it slightly slower than a Comer. At tracks around the country the easykart cadet may go quicker because the driver can fit any sprocket whereas in races this is set.
If the engine was not restricted then it would be faster than the Comers but so would WTP and possibly Honda.
When we tested out junior easykart at Whilton it was quicker than the minimax but slower than the quickest junior rotax. Maybe with a change of sprocket it could have been quicker but we were testing for easykart races and therefore no point in using sprokets that we would not use for our races.
Really though it is not about which class goes a fraction faster - easykart is a series that tries to ensure all karts are as near equal as possible allowing the driver to be the main performance factor. Some people will love it and others will prefer one of the other classes.
Easykart races are held at various MSA clubs around the country and many drivers practice at their local clubs so it does not really take any money away from clubs but may keep people in karting.
