Sorry I didn't mention that, I didn't know you could jump the start as the pole man.

It was described to us as "the responsibility of the pole man is to maintain formation to the start finish line" this effectively hands control of the start to the no 2 position because if he wants to screw the no1 position race, he just hangs back and waits for the Clerk to check the timings at the end of the race. This is what happened to Ashley, he was told by Chapman that he should have waited for the no 2 guy to catch up with him before the start finish line - ridiculous.

No it didn't effect his championship (unless something else happens!) but we won't be defending the title next year that's for sure, you can't race with such inconsistencies in judgment.
