There are several Cadet classes with various engines 2 & 4 stroke (Comer, Honda, WTP and Easykart). If you want to race locally find out what's on the grid at your local track and then come and ask for specifics of that class.

If you want to race Nationally and don't want to spend a fortune or be uncompetitive take a look at Easykart.
