The rule of thumb is the thicker the diameter tubing, the stiffer the chassis will be. My 1996 Solo TKM 28mm chassis is awesome in the wet but suffered on hot sticky tracks, yet I had a 32mm ARC a few years back that was awful in the wet and better in the dry.
