Don't leave any parts in the liquid overnight.

Don't have anything exposed as you can get a black tide mark along the exposed edge.

Clean loose soiling off first.

Wash off cleaning fluid once you take the part out and spray with WD40 if necessary.

Don't leave parts in once they are clean as you can re-attract dirt.

Plastic parts usually come up fine.
