My son is nearly 11 and still carries 4kg with a full tank of fuel.
Frankly for me now a weight increase would be brilliant, because my lad could go to 13 in the class and with his age and maturity, whip everyone.
But that would be ridiculous because a small 8 year old, whatever his talent, would be carrying so much static weight that they could never be competitive.
Additionally, a good driver in Cadet libre can just about live with the Comer's and WTP's. Increase the weight and it will shift the balance too far, splitting the overall cadet class into two. The only way a weight increase would work is if they allowed a power increase as well. Allowing the use of a GX200 head gasket would do this, but I can't see it happening.
IMO 100kg is just right.
