We experienced this brake pad wear on our Maguras last year I spoke to Trevor at Venhill who is very helpful his advice was as follows:
1 bleed your brakes before each days racing we use AP racing 5.1 synthetic
2 make sure the springs that hold the pads in are set right this is most important ie they are gripping the pad
3 replace your caliper seals regularly ie every 5/6 meetings as they get a build up of dust
we did the above and ran with the same set of pads all year, about 15 meetings, and still had plenty of meat on the pads
