Steve,

If you want to get a taste of racing before you commit to choosing a class and buying a kart can I suggest you give club100 a go?

They run an arrive and drive race series but instead of using slower, heavier 4 stroke karts, they use TKM 2 strokes. They run harder tyres and slightly longer gearing than the owner driver TKM class - but it's a great series to get a taste of racing decent karts before you decide with path you might want to tread in karting.
