If you think EasyKart is expensive, I think you may have a shock when you start looking at how much you can spend in some of the other classes! As well as the kart, there's a lot of kit to buy - racewear, spares, tools, transport, then running costs will add a fair whack to your season's budget - consumables such as fuel, oil and tyres plus general maintenance, engine rebuilds, track testing & race entry fees, travelling etc. Try and be realistic...it's very easy to get swept up in it all without considering the true costs and commitment needed.
The advice that everyone will give you is always figure out what tracks are near you, then go and have a look and a chat, and watch some racing. Not all classes are run at every track, so that may be a deciding factor for you. I've done some non-competitive karting over the past couple of years, and ended up running in my first season of non-MSA 4 stoke racing (despite being familiar with the 2 stroke scene in my youth), due to various factors - nearness of the tracks, running costs, closeness of racing and overall initial outlay.
Interestingly, I've been doing some testing with a friend who has had all sorts of motor sports race experience, and he's found it really steep learning curve trying to get to grips with the kart..so good luck with it. The people on here have got a wealth of knowledge...I'm sure you'll get lots of advice.
