Could anyone give advice on the following problem?
I've just fitted a Mychron 4 to my lad's kart. Everything seems to be working well except the temperature sensor: it's the type that fits under the sparkplug to monitor the head temperature.
The problem is that it shows very high engine temperatures after about 10 laps,(up to 230C) which were never shown before using his Alfano unit. Nothing on the engine has been changed since fitting the Mychron, so I'm wondering if how I've routed the sensor may be the cause.
I've tested the sensor by boiling in a kettle, this gave a correct reading of 100C and the unit is configured to read in degrees C.
Does anyone know if this could be caused by routing the metal part of the sensor lead toward the exhaust side of the head as I have done?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Dave.
