Would just like to know if anybody else suffered with tyre problems at Whilton the weekend. I had three minimax drivers and one junior, saturday testing was good, with minimax driver putting in lap times of 47.54. jnr was very fast to with over 80 lap rubber, within 2 tenths of the quickest. Come sunday all the boys on new tyres, two of my minimax drivers and my junior were at least half a second off there saturday times, and all complaining of the same thing, overall grip. My other minimax had no issues and was lapping at the same times as his saturday test. When we arrived i sent the boys over the shop to pick up 3 sets of SL8 tyres, and i had one set from my shop at Lydd. The tyres i had were on the driver who had no issues, so to prove a point to myself when i arrived at Lydd this morning i bolted on my set of tyres and done 12 laps, then bolted on the other set and went six tenths slower. I feel that this needs addressing with only two weeks before super one starts for all our sakes. I will speak to kkc and j.a.g. today but just wanted to see first if anyone else had issues or weather it was just a few freak sets either been stored wrong or from the factory.
