My son passed his ARKS in Jan, we took part in HKC Feb, were planning to take part in March but a last minute emergency prevented this.

So thought we would have a look at competing in the last round of BPKC instead, until control tyres got in the way. We would have to buy a new set of control tyres for the 1 race day, which we wouldn't be allowed to keep.

Maybe its just me but it seems to defeat the objective, (apart from the cost) if we had gone ahead my son would have had a new set of tyres that could be only be used for 1 race meeting while the others are using tyres on their 3rd race meeting.
