The problem is (in a very simplified way, perhaps someone else would elaborate?) that as the moulds have worn in at the factory over the years they have given ever so slightly better performance due to sharp edges etc wearing. They changed the moulds at the factory at the start of 2008 for the barrels which effectively took the barrels back to how they were in '98. So the 'fit' with the motor isnt QUITE as good as say a 2006 barrel. Hopefully someone will elaborate and correct that if needed and everyone will stop trying to being all secret squirrel as usual.
