A Tillett Ribtec can help if you suffer rib bruising regularly. It must be worn correctly though, and the instructions are quite specific on this.

The benefit is really only felt in fast bumpy corners such as the second corner Crook at Whilton.

It is however quite a lump of hard padding wedged around your middle. Having said that I wouldn't be without mine. But I'm very tall and very heavy.

Before you spend money on this have a real good look at your seat. Are there any bolts that you can feel on your ribs if you sit in the kart with it standing still? If so try and alleviate this, and possibly add some padding to the seat first.

You'd be surprised how something simple like this could really dig into and impact your ribs once you're on the circuit, and the effects (i.e. pain!) may be completely masked by concentration and adrenaline once the red mist has decended on the track!
