Part of the problem may be the difference in ability between mac and some of the other competitors. They see Mac go round and try to be as quick - then when something does slow the field they do not have the experience to deal with it. Some of the drivers finishing near the front at some of these tracks struggle to make it out of the B finals at tracks like Whilton and Shenington or finish well down in the A final whereas Mac is always in contention for the trophies at both tracks.
Just shows how right you were in suggesting entry to the championships should be more restricted.
