We were in the CoCs office twice at Shennington last weekend (once our fault the other not) and no use was made of the CCTV evidence even though there was some doubt as to the sequence of events. Perhaps Wilkins wasn't covered by the cameras.
However I have noticed that over the last month or so that the number of people getting called to see the CoC after races seems to have increased dramatically. It does seem that clubs are getting stricter with rule breaking but with one flaw - they only seem to take into account what happens at that particular meeting. No account of how the driver had behaved at previous meetings seems to be considered. So some drivers get warned about the same thing meeting after meeting with no sanction being taken against them. I've seen this result in some very heated exchanges in parc ferme (heh Cadet parents - doncha love 'em). Maybe some sort of 'Bound over to keep the peace for N months) type sanction is needed. Do it again and its points (not prizes)! Something like this probably exists as I'll admit to having a hazy knowledge of the rule book(s).
BTW thanks to all the Marshalls and officials at Shenny - it was our first time there and even though things didn't go to plan for us we enjoyed it. Very well run and they even have a PA system you can hear!
