Neil, At least Carolynn had the courtesy to call you and explain her reasoning - she could have just gone ahead and waited for you to find out or put a posting on here. With the trip coming up very soon a decision on a replacement would have to be made to allow for booking of flights etc and the appeals may not be finalised in time (do you know when the results are due out). Having said that I would agree that Mac should have been first reserve and offered the place. He has driven fantastically this year and proven that it is possible to achieve success on a samall (ish) budget. Should he have been offered the place subject to someone else taking him? Although we do live in a country with `free speech' there are limits to how free you can be with comments and some of your post here have come very close (or crossed) the line of how far you can go before someone takes legal action. If you were in Carolynn's seat would you feel comfortable taking you to the USA as a representative of UK karting? If you made similar comments over there you would be sued and probably Stars would be as well. When you posted that I live in a world of pink clouds and fluffy bunnies where cheating never happens, I did not take offence as you have said similar things to me at the track and we can still have a beer together - can's always agree on everything. When you say that James threw the B final at Shenington Stars because we were tipped off about the engine checks I thought "typical Neil mouthing off" and even posted a reply putting you straight. Despite that, you repeated the claim in two later posts. That is when you can cross the line between having an opinion under `free speech' and moving towards libel. In our case it was very minor, you are a nice guy and I don't have money to waste on Solicitors but some of your other remarks could well have had you tied up in legal action. Keep on with the opinions but please take a bit more care with posts in future.
