I could never understand why we couldn't post pictures on here.
Then again, although you can post a picture on K1 I've never fathomed out how to!
I stopped using K1 after the debacle over the 'sexist' remark that resulted in the banning of the 'culprit'.
The trouble with Facebook and possibly K1 is that your opinions are subject to the whims of the 'admins'.
If your opinion is not that of the page owner, then your post is deleted or you are banned, so people tend to stand back.
It's a very rare event if such things happen on here.
On the BKDA Facebook page, adverts are removed but events are encouraged, together with Q&A's.
I for one was pleased that IKR took off as the MSA had become a dictatorship and the karter badly needed an alternative.
I though they might have learned a lesson but if anything it is worse than ever.
Watching the F1 yesterday, I couldn't believe the complete intransigence. Poor old Williams, one of the oldest an now the poorest independent teams, were subjected to more crap than they deserved and a little lenience wouldn't have gone amiss.
I know rules have to be in place but you can move the goalposts and still play the game rather than walking off with the ball.
Facebook has severely diluted the karting audience and that is not a good thing. Now every man and his dog can start a page. People subscribe to any new source of information or spares to buy and sell but then suffer with FB overload and quickly switch off.
And what happened to the ABkC? I know the MSA always intended to highjack it and bring it 'in house' according to my source at the MSA but are they still active?
There wasn't a simplifying of the kart rule book either, which is why IKR flourished. and although I can't tell you the details, they've left the door wide open for a bit of serious WWW sabotage if someone wanted to do it to them.
I do wonder how many of the 'old guard' still look here without commenting.
If you do a search of all the old farts who were around, you'll find they haven't posted for years but they ain't dead!
