The two things IKR arguably needed in order to change people's perception of it as THE karting establishment ahead of the MSA was, in my opinion, a British Championship..... and a governing body. It now has Super 1... with qualification to two major international events.... and other stuff on the horizon still to be announced...
The issue with a governing body and set of regs, particularly where classes are concerned, is that some clubs just want to run according the their particular set of rules locally, and not be bound by regs that do not suit them. That is not insurmountable though as I'm sure someone can design "libre" or "run what u brung" rules that enable people to turn up and get track time for fun, that does not necessarily fit into a specific class?
It's coming I'm sure... just not sure who is going to do it. Needs a lot of meetings and phone calls to organise it properly and sensibly. I actually think it should be a reasonably short document that everyone can read, easily understand and agree to work to.
