Good job Alan! IKR is fast becoming the major player in the UK at club level for individuals and smaller teams without large budgets behind them. There is many a good driver out there who will never afford enough track time to be able to truly compete with the big budget boys in the pinnacle competitions. There is a danger however, the big players will hijack the competition, as a 'National Champion' is a great prize by any measure(even if regarded as the League Cup of karting compared to the FA Cup. If points were awarded on a race by race basis, once again big budgets can race each weekend at different tracks to accumulate points to unfairly skew their points tally. An IKR personal registration number could be issued to each competitor wanting to enter any eligible IKR Championship qualifying round. This number would then be entered for entry into each club round. The points gained could then be limited to 1 qualifying event each month, for each competitor(No massaging points totals) My personal preference at present, is for one place to be allocated to a national competition for say, every 5 competitors at each eligible IKR registered club championship, so a club championship with 5 drivers has 1 eligible entrant. For 10 drivers it would be 2 entrants, 15 would mean 3 entrants and so on, even if this meat a national or regional Semi Final, then Final. This means all kart clubs would truly have a stake at the top table. Wouldn't that be great!
