Now that's a good question, I just done 6 years with a double deck box trailer, quite simply it was nothing but pain and aggro, punctures, electrical faults, back breaking to move around, de-coupling on a slope /incline/ hill section is plain lethal...…I hated that effing trailer.....
I recently got a VW crafter XLWB hi-top with a big garage in the back which easily holds a senior and cadet, and 3-berth camper section in the middle, quite simply it was the best money I ever spent, I love it, karting life is now so much easier.
Get a van that is about 3-5 years old, LWB are very common, but its well worth finding an XLWB with a hi-top makes all the difference as you can stand up in it and get more in the back, then drag it down to a conversion place. Don't get a shower or a toilet as they have this at the circuits. Get a rib-rock-n-roll 3 seat which folds down as a double bed, pricey at £3K but well worth it believe me......My van seats 6 with seatbelts.....my van is quite unique, but everyone that as seen it does appear to like it.
Honestly putting a shower and toilet in a karting camper van really takes up way too much space.
be careful of ebay 5hitters.....people are asking WAY too much money for old knackered and grubby vans.
