Quite a reasonable turn out considering the inclement weather.
What did surprise me was the huge number of spectators.
The balcony was banging.
It was actually difficult to find a place to park.
That says one thing to me, karting just got friendly and interesting.
It also proved that without the restrictions, people who normally just go out on the track for a 'jolly', now feel that they can enter a race and not feel intimidated.
Two chaps who are no longer 'spring chickens' made their first foray into actual racing and enjoyed it.
Even though they had said in the past that they wouldn't race.
The commentary really works well too.
Grass roots karting, no Droppo Floppo bumpers, no daft regs that get you thown out for non performance enhancing infringements.
Well done.
